Safe Campus Meetups

A few simple habits make every exchange safer for everyone.

Most trades on Students' DigiMart go smoothly, and a little care goes a long way. Here's how to keep every meetup safe.

1. Meet in daylight

Schedule exchanges during daytime hours whenever possible. Avoid late-night or early-morning meetups.

2. Choose busy, public campus spots

Cafeterias, libraries, hostel common areas, faculty entrances — anywhere with people around. Avoid isolated spots, empty classrooms, or off-campus addresses you don't know.

3. Bring a friend if you can

Especially for higher-value items, having someone else there is safer for both buyer and seller.

4. Inspect before you pay

Check the item fully — condition, whether it works, whether anything is missing — before any money changes hands. Students' DigiMart doesn't process payments, so there's no buyer protection once cash or a transfer has gone out.

5. Verify before you commit

For higher-value items, confirm the details in the in-app chat first — condition, price, pickup time — so there's a record, rather than agreeing everything on the spot.

6. Trust your instincts

If a location, time, or request feels off, it's okay to suggest an alternative or walk away. No trade is worth your safety.

7. Keep payment and handover together

Hand over the money and the item at the same meetup, in person. Avoid sending money ahead of time to someone you haven't met.

8. Report anything that goes wrong

A no-show, a misrepresented item, pressure to meet somewhere unsafe, or any uncomfortable interaction — report it to us, don't just let it drop.

These are guidelines, not guarantees — Students' DigiMart connects students directly and isn't present for the trade itself. Use good judgment and look out for each other.
